Privacy notice

Effective 31 October 2026 · ZenCognitics Pty Ltd, Australia

Whatever DeeZen processes on your device is private. Nothing more is promised. When a task needs more than your device can do, it leaves by one of the routes named below — and each route says exactly what it carries.

1. What stays on your device

DeeZen is built local-first. These live on your computer, not on our servers:

We do not run an account system for the core product. We do not receive your conversations, your files, or your keys.

2. What leaves your device — every route, named

Nothing below is claimed to be private. Each row is a route the product can take, what it carries, and who receives it.

Your AI provider
(you chose it; your key)
The request you made — text, and images if you attached them — sent with your own API key. That provider, under their privacy terms. We never see this traffic or your key.
voice.deezen.ai The text Dee is asked to speak. This service is text-to-speech only; it has no speech-to-text, so microphone audio is not sent to it. A server we run, which returns audio.
lang.deezen.ai The text of a turn when translation is used — for a non-English question, or to answer in your language. A translation server we run, which returns the translated text.
brain.deezen.ai The text of a turn that uses the shared native-language brain. A shared server we run. Currently offline (it returns HTTP 530), so no turn reaches it today.
phone.deezen.ai Messages between your phone and your own computer when you pair a phone. Each message is signed with a per-phone secret; the relay can delay a message but cannot forge or replay it. The relay we run, which carries the message to your computer.
Paddle
(payments)
Purchase details when you buy a subscription or credits. Paddle is the merchant of record and the controller of that data. Paddle. We receive subscription status and credit balance — not your card details.
link.deezen.ai Downloads of model files and release manifests. A storage service we run. These requests carry no personal content.
Public data lookups
(only when a question needs them)
The search terms or identifiers needed to answer — for example a company name or a fact to check. Wikipedia, Wikidata, SEC EDGAR, the IMF, the World Bank, Britannica, DuckDuckGo or Bing, under their own terms.
Social publishing
(only accounts you connect)
The post you wrote, and any media you attached. Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Meta or TikTok — whichever you connected.

3. What we do not do

4. Hosting and logs

This website and its downloads are served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes standard request data — such as IP address and user agent — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our own servers keep short-lived operational logs needed to run the services above; we do not use them to build profiles of what you ask Dee.

5. Your controls

6. Retention

Local data stays on your device until you delete it. Purchase records held by Paddle are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support correspondence is kept only while the issue is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.

7. Children

DeeZen is for people aged 16 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

8. Changes

If this notice changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date. Material changes will be described in the product's release notes.
